Any excuse that I get to visit the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point I will grab with both hands. After my amazing recent stay I make the return trip to see the hotels wedding fare. After experiencing the incredibly warm West Clare welcome I knew that all perspective couples would be in for a treat when they met the team.

Obviously I’ve ever been married myself but I’m well aware of whats involved in the big day and the key role that the hotel and it’s staff play in one of the biggest days of any couples life. While I was enjoying brunch in the bar before the show kicked off I was sitting beside a young couple going through arrangements with the wedding planner and she couldn’t have been more helpful or professional. It really does make such a difference.

I was then given a tour of the set up before the show started. The area that was set up for the drinks reception was beautifully set up with samples of what couples can arrange on their big day. From a champagne reception to, music, delicious hors d'oeuvres, a sweet trolley, an amazing dessert display and a gin trolley where guests can actually cut their own garnish.

Then attendees were shown into the main function room where the best of Clare’s business displayed their services, from beauticians, to ring sellers, floral walls, drones, suits and dress and everything in between. The event was hosted by the Irelands answer to the Kardashians, the beautiful Garrihy sisters. Aoibhin gave some great time to brides to be and no better woman as she spoke from experience having married the gentleman John John Burke in that very room not so long ago. Ailbhe and Doireann did what they do best wandered and chatted to the stalls.

Garrihy Sisters

I bumped into a number of Galway couples on the day and why not, while Galway has a number of gorgeous wedding venues the Armada is hard to beat, for location, service and all round quality for your special day. Its not that far a drive now either. I even bumped into an old friend that wouldn’t be a bad one to get a hat off on the day. The amazing Jennifer Wynne called in (when she saw my snapchats even though she claimed it was to see the girls!

Check out the Armada's website for more information on weddings or give them a call.
